Bali is one of the most popular islands in Indonesia and is visited by thousands of tourists from all over the world every month. The main season starts in March and lasts until October.
Bali offers its tourists amazing nature, coastline, beautiful culture and a very specific and tasty cuisine. Many people travel here for a few weeks, so we’ve put together a 2 week itinerary that includes some of the best the island has to offer.
Of course, it is not possible to explore all the areas and visit all the beautiful places in this time, but it is still enough time to fall in love with the island. So let’s get to it.
Our 14-day itinerary includes 13 nights divided as follows:
- 3 nights Uluwatu
- 2 nights Nusa Penida island
- 3 nights Ubud
- 3 nights Munduk
- 2 nights Canggu
You’ll really enjoy everything with this itinerary. The beautiful coastline and great vibes in Uluwatu, the gorgeous beaches and snorkeling in Nusa Penida, the enchanting nature and rice fields in Ubud, or the breathtaking waterfalls in Munduk. Finish your holiday in tourist favourite Canggu, where you’ll enjoy luxury restaurants, beach clubs and the best shopping places.
If you’re going to Bali, be sure to read all the information you need before you go in our article: 10 things you should know before your holiday in Bali!
Uluwatu
The perfect holiday in Bali couldn’t begin any other way than in Uluwatu. It takes about 30 minutes to get here from the international airport and you’ll pay about 13-15€ for a taxi.
If you’re looking for affordable bed and breakfast hotels, check out Maha Lokha hotel, located in a quiet part of Uluwatu. You can get everywhere in a few minutes by a scooter. We definitely recommend a visit to Uluwate Temple, Melasti or Nungallan beach, or the best sunset spot called Karang Boma Cliff.
Nusa Penida
From Uluwatu, you’ll transfer to the port of Sanur Bali, from where you’ll embark on your next adventure – Nusa Penida island. Even though the boats run very frequently, we recommend buying tickets online in advance via bookaway.
Nusa Penida offers spectacular views. We definitely recommend a visit to the most famous Kelingking Beach, which is also referred to as T-Rex because the shape of the rocks resembles a Tyrannosaurus rex with its mouth open. Really famous are Diamond Beach or the treehouse, but we recommend arriving early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
If you are looking for the perfect place to live, we recommend Ari La Casa. It is close to the harbour and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The owners were very nice and helpful, they also offer scooters for rent.
You will find all the information you need about Nusa Penida in our article: Must visit place in Bali? Nusa Penida Island.
Ubud
After days spent on the coast, it wants a change. You will move from Nusa Penida to the very popular area Ubud. You’ll find everything here. Beautiful nature, waterfalls, rice fields, great local restaurants, but also nightlife.
The Alas Harum Bali complex is definitely worth a visit, where there are many tourist attractions and beautiful rice fields. You’ll only pay €3 to get in, but this also gets you into the Cretya Ubud club, which has great restaurant and three outdoor pools overlooking the rice paddies. There is also a DJ creating great atmosphere.
You can find more locations around Ubud as well as tips for restaurants and cafes in our e-book.
Munduk
Our favourite area in Bali is the north and specifically the area around Munduk. You will find the most beautiful waterfalls here that are not crowded with hundreds of people. A little cooler weather can be expected in this area (around 20-25 degrees) and even during the dry season there may be some rainfall, as this is a high mountain area.
The three most beautiful waterfalls to visit here are definitely NungNung Waterfall, GitGit Waterfall and Sekumpul Waterfall.
Canggu
How else to end your holiday in Bali than in the most famous Canggu? This is where you’ll find the best beach clubs, nightlife, a large number of fancy cafes, restaurants and boutiques.
There are also markets where you can buy beautiful souvenirs. We definitely recommend La Brisa Market, which is open every Sunday.
If you’re not in Canggu on a Sunday, an alternative is the Canggu Center Market, which is located just to the right of La Brisa and is open every day.
You can buy the e-book at a special price here.
