Hello traveller! Welcome to our blog.
We are Domi and Thomas, a Slovak couple known as 2troubletravelers. A woman from Levice and a man from Humenne met together in Bratislava and discovered that they have a common passion – travelling.
Thomas has been traveling since he was young, spending a year in America when he was 17. During college, he also tried a six-month study stay in Norway, spent a month in Australia, and traveled to a number of European cities.
Domi was one of those travelers who prefer tried-and-tested classics or all-inclusive vacations 😀 She had been to Italy more than 10 times, and she only visited other countries with travel agencies.
I guess it’s becoming clear who influenced whom in this regard, right? 😀 The IT consultant and university teacher became interested in content creation, and their traveling family gradually grew to include new members in the form of a GoPro camera, a drone, and a professional camera.
Our shared travel story has been unfolding for more than six years now, beginning when we visited our first destination together – Barcelona. The first years were marked by travelling around Europe. In 2021, at the time of the pandemic, we drove from Bratislava to Lisbon. We spent a beautiful 3 months in Portugal and absolutely fell in love with the country.
In 2022, we got to experience what it’s like to live with lively Spaniards in Valencia, where they drink sangria for breakfast and dance on the beach in the evening. After discovering affordable destinations in Europe, we thought it was time to take it up a notch.
And so, in October 2023, we embarked on a six-month honeymoon around the world. Our first destination was the beautiful Maldives. We’ve shown you that you can travel to the Maldives for affordable prices and enjoy almost the same beauty that luxury resorts offer for thousands of euros.
Later, we moved on to exotic Sri Lanka, where we lived with elephants, swam with turtles, and traveled seven hours on the iconic train from Kandy to Ella.
Sri Lanka was followed by beautiful Thailand – a destination that everyone falls in love with. In addition to the most touristic cities and islands, we also visited lesser-known places that can take your holiday in Thailand to another level.
After sunny Thailand, we went to discover northern Vietnam, which enchanted us with its specific culture, beautiful nature and great food. We also did a three-day motorcycle tour that changed our lives!
The year 2023 was a special year for us, as it brought us many beautiful moments, so we decided it was time to make our biggest dream come true! Ring in the New Year with the most beautiful fireworks display in the world – in Sydney.
Time flew by as we explored the beauty of Western Australia during our caravan adventure, but our honeymoon was slowly but surely coming to an end. Our final destination awaited us – Indonesia. And it was here that travelers became entrepreneurs who decided to turn their hobby into a full-time job and experience what it’s like to swap a 9-5 job for working 24/7 on their own business. And still married!
In May 2024, we returned to Slovakia, but we did not return to our previous jobs. We started creating content for hotels, companies, and brands around the world, which gave us complete freedom and took our work to a new level.
We love connecting brands with adventure and travel, and in recent years we have managed to collaborate with dozens of hotels around the world, as well as companies and brands not only from Slovakia and the Czech Republic, but also with global market players such as Insta360, Sheraton, Expedia, or GetYourGuide.
We currently have more than 10 travel guides to Asia, and together with you, we are creating a wonderful community of passionate travelers who are not afraid to step out of their comfort zone and travel on their own – with our help☺
So that’s us – a former teacher and IT analyst who found a shared passion for travel and content creation, and now share not only a bed but also a business. Welcome! ☺

We are a young couple who have long understood that material gifts are not for us. We are united by our love for each other, but also by our love for new experiences and adventures. And you know when you find out you’re a true traveller? When you’ll never feel 100% at home anywhere again, because part of your heart will always be in a different place. This is the price a traveler pays for the opportunity to love and experience the beauty of this world.

Over the years of travelling, we have understood that travelling means not only getting to know new countries and their cultures, but first and foremost getting to know yourself and your partner in situations that you certainly won’t find at home on the couch. A night hike up a volcano in Spain, camping on the beach, or a 20-hour wait for fireworks in Sydney. Scripts like a Netflix adventure movie? No. This could be your next holiday too! During our travels we have collected a lot of experiences, had a lot of adventures but also downfalls (troubles) that we could have avoided if… If only there was something like 2troubletravelers before. A place that tells us what to see, what to taste and how to enjoy the places as much as possible, but on the other hand warns us about things that may not be entirely positive, but we need to know about them so that our adventure trip doesn’t turn into a nightmare.
