Hello traveller! Welcome to our blog.
We are Domi and Thomas, a Slovak couple known as 2troubletravelers. A woman from Levice and a man from Humenne met together in Bratislava and discovered that they have a common passion – travelling.
Thomas has been travelling since a young age, spending a year in America as a 17 year old. During college, he also tried a six-month study stay in Norway, spent a month in Australia, and traveled to a number of European cities.
Domi was one of those travelers who like the tried and tested classics or all inclusive holidays 😀 Although she had been to Italy more than 10 times, she visited other countries exclusively with travel agencies.
It’s probably becoming clear to you who influenced who in this regard though? 😀 An IT consultant and a college teacher became interested in content creation and their traveling family gradually added new members in the form of a GoPro camera, a drone, or a professional camera.
Our travel story together has been almost 5 years in the making, and it started the moment we visited our first destination together – Barcelona. The first years were marked by travelling around Europe. In 2021, at the time of the pandemic, we drove from Bratislava to Lisbon. We spent a beautiful 3 months in Portugal and absolutely fell in love with the country.
In 2022, we got to experience what it’s like to live with lively Spaniards in Valencia, where they drink sangria for breakfast and dance on the beach in the evening. After discovering affordable destinations in Europe, we thought it was time to take it up a notch.
And so, in October 2023, we embarked on a six-month honeymoon around the world. Our first destination was the beautiful Maldives. We’ve shown you that you can travel to the Maldives for affordable prices and enjoy almost the same beauty that luxury resorts offer for thousands of euros.
Later we moved on to exotic Sri Lanka, where we stayed with elephants, swam with turtles, and traveled 8 hours on the iconic train from Kandy to Ella.
Sri Lanka was followed by beautiful Thailand – a destination everyone will fall in love with. In addition to the most touristic cities and islands, we also visited lesser-known places that can take your holiday in Thailand to another level.
After sunny Thailand, we went to discover northern Vietnam, which enchanted us with its specific culture, beautiful nature and great food. We also did a three-day motorcycle tour that changed our lives!
The year 2023 was a special year for us, as it brought us many beautiful moments, so we decided it was time to make our biggest dream come true! Ring in the New Year with the most beautiful fireworks display in the world – in Sydney. The year 2024 is here and we can’t wait for all the other adventures we will share with you 😊 ARE YOU READY?

Adventure > Materiality
We are a young couple who have long understood that material gifts are not for us. We are united by our love for each other, but also by our love for new experiences and adventures. And you know when you find out you’re a true traveller? When you’ll never feel 100% at home anywhere again, because part of your heart will always be in a different place. This is the price a traveler pays for the opportunity to love and experience the beauty of this world.

Over the years of travelling, we have understood that travelling means not only getting to know new countries and their cultures, but first and foremost getting to know yourself and your partner in situations that you certainly won’t find at home on the couch. A night hike up a volcano in Spain, camping on the beach, or a 20-hour wait for fireworks in Sydney. Scripts like a Netflix adventure movie? No. This could be your next holiday too! And we’ll show you how.

During our travels we have collected a lot of experiences, had a lot of adventures but also downfalls (troubles) that we could have avoided if… If only there was something like 2troubletravelers before. A place that tells us what to see, what to taste and how to enjoy the places as much as possible, but on the other hand warns us about things that may not be entirely positive, but we need to know about them so that our adventure trip doesn’t turn into a nightmare.
